Our groups include:

  • Community Music: These are regular groups for group sizes of up to around 12 that take place in our Campbell House base at Gartnavel Royal Hospital and are open to people with no previous experience of making music as well as those already experienced to any level. Activities at this group include Drumming and percussion, playing instruments and singing, song writing and composing and improvisation.
  • Inpatients: Weekly interactive music sessions for groups up to 15 that are held on Mental Health Hospital wards or at our Campbell House base. Activities may include: Singing together, rhythm work with percussion, focused listening, group improvising, band style sessions and songwriting and composing. Sessions last 40-45 minutes each for a block of about 12 weeks at a time.
  • Care Homes: Weekly music groups for people living with dementia held in Glasgow care homes for groups up to 25. Session content is tailored to the residents but activities may involve: Singing together, rhythm work with percussion and focused listening. Sessions last 40-45 minutes each for a block of about 10 weeks at a time
  • Young People: Alongside our Community Music group which young people aged 18+ are welcome to join, we deliver Make Music Make a Difference in partnership with NHS Esteem.

How to access this service

  • You need to be referred by another organisation Mental Health professional or support worker (Community Music only)
