This service works with families to help them overcome a range of issues affecting their lives such as: isolation, mental health challenges, bereavement, family breakdown, addiction, physical ill health and more.
For home visits, a volunteer worker will visit a family, in their own home, for 2 or 3 hours a week, for as long as the family needs them or until the youngest child turns 8. Volunteers help in providing emotional and practical support, increasing confidence in parenting skills and building self-esteem in many families throughout the Southside of Glasgow.
For families that may have more pressing needs, we provide intensive family support through our dedicated team of family support workers. The team engage with local families on a one-to-one basis to help prevent them reaching crisis point.
Families can self refer or professionals working with the family (such as a health visitor, GP or those working in social care or child care) can refer them. Professionals looking to refer must complete the referral form, self-referrals need only call.
