This delivery model aims to make social and emotional wellbeing and mental health an accepted part of everyday life. Families can access this service within their local community, preventing the need for travel and allowing easier access to support as well as reducing stigma around mental health.

Play Therapy helps children in a variety of ways, we offer both individual and group work support. Children receive emotional support and can learn to understand more about their own feelings and thoughts. Sometimes, as the words can be hard to find, they may re-enact or play out traumatic or difficult life experiences in order to make sense of their past and cope better with their future. Play Therapy process and practice recognises the importance of understanding the child’s world and perspective, providing a therapeutic service for children that promotes growth, development and positive change.

This service is integrated within three local schools – Riverside Primary, St Saviour’s Primary and Pirie Park Primary. We accept referrals from statutory services, other voluntary sector organisations and from parents and carers. Please ask for Aileen when contacting regarding this service.
