We work to tackle loneliness and social isolation among in older people. Through our friendship line, we provide regular calls to isolated older people. We support local older peoples groups across Scotland, helping them to thrive and provide a sense of community.

The Age Scotland Friendship Line

Our friendship line is part of the wider Age Scotland helpline. We're here to listen, provide friendship and offer support. Having a conversation can have such a positive impact. We can talk about all sorts, from current interests, hobbies, previous professions, top tier biscuits, time travel – the list is endless!

When you need friendship and support, please call 0800 12 44 222 to have a chat or schedule a weekly call with one of our friendly volunteers. It's completely free and lines are open Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm.

Community Connecting 

We tackle loneliness and social isolation by connecting older people to local organisations that offer friendship, social activities, health and fitness groups and events. Call us on 0800 12 44 222 to have a chat and find out what is available in your area.
