The Women’s Support Project is a feminist voluntary organisation; recognised as a Scottish Charity. The Project works to raise awareness of the extent; causes and effect of male violence against women; and for improved services for those affected.
Our Glasgow based Rights & Choices project will continue working with clients by phone, text, email and WhatsApp. We can :
• Contact women weekly, or as needed, to help combat isolation, and check if there are any urgent needs. This service will be provided by both staff members and volunteers.
• Circulate useful information, e.g. about local food banks and delivery services
• Help women access services, e.g. if there are language barriers
• Help women access emergency funds for food and fuel
We are looking at ways of setting up peer support and/or locality support groups so that women can chat and share useful local information.
We are also supporting agencies in the Encompass Network develop and deliver services by providing up to date information on housing, local support and benefits/finances.
