Summerston Childcare comprises of two services within the North West area of Glasgow. Summerston Family Learning Centre is located at Bellcraig Community Centre and officially opened June 2004. Summerston After School Care is located within Caldercuilt Primary School and officially opened March 1995.
We work in partnership with Glasgow City Council to develop childcare services across the North West and work closely with other service providers to develop services in the city.
Our vision is to encourage play based learning promoting the rights of the child to enable each child to develop their capabilities.
Our aims are:
- To be welcoming, supportive and caring towards each other and the families in our setting.
- To provide an environment which is safe, challenging, fun, nurturing and adaptive.
- To support each other to remain a developing staff team to fulfil our vision and values.
- To share our knowledge of the rights of the child with families within our setting.
- To encourage the children to become confident as individuals, successful as learners, responsible as citizens and effective contributors to society.
