The Scottish Commission For People with Learning Disabilities’ (SCLD) vision is of a fairer Scotland where people with learning/intellectual disabilities live full, safe, loving and equal lives.
We are an intermediary organisation for the learning disability sector in Scotland and the Scottish Government’s delivery partner in the implementation of The keys to life (www.keystolife.info) Scotland’s learning disability strategy.
We work across the learning disability sector with partners to:
Support the development and evaluation of asset based approaches to service design and delivery
Promote good practice which facilitates new opportunities for people with learning disabilities
Create opportunities to share good practice and ensuring accessible dissemination of evidence
Provide advice and support to organisations to strengthen their capability to support people with learning disabilities
We have been working with Scottish Government to produce some guidance for people with learning disabilities on the Coronavirus outbreak and how people can protect themselves as well as sharing other information and resources, including self-help booklets published by The University of Glasgow , with assistance from colleagues at Lancaster University, the University of Oxford and the University of Warwick.
