Kinning Park Complex is a three storey red-sandstone building containing twelve studio spaces, a shared meeting room and two large halls. The Complex has been managed and maintained since 1996 by the building users on behalf of the wider community and is a registered Community Interest Company.
We offer two large spaces for:
* community groups
* dance classes, martial arts and other physical activities
* theatre rehearsals
* public meetings
* music workshops
* and all kinds of other events.
We offer phone check ins for people who feel anxious; lonely or isolated; and refer to other services when needed. We are also exploring safe ways to ensure residents have access to healthy and nutritious food. KPC Acts of Organised Kindness Project has been developed by Kinning Park Complex and Clyde Community Hall. We are looking to involve more community organisations and local stakeholders to expand the network and resources available. 1) People in our communities do not feel totally alone and completely without hope; 2) Our communities have access to the goods; services and support that they need; 3) Our communities are empowered to look after themselves and each other.
As of Friday 24th April we have expanded our regular support list to 86 people, recruited 60 volunteers and counting, delivered 20,000 flyers and carried out 100's of acts of organised kindness; from phone calls with our community to delivering food and finding out what else people need.
As our A-OK team has grown we now have a clear idea of what help we can safely provide to meet our communities needs:
Twice weekly Catch Ups from a member of our Support Team via phone call, text, social media or email
Delivery of cooked meals, groceries and other essentials
We offer dog-walking services for those in isolation
We host online art and english classes
