Kinning Park Complex in response to the current situation caused by the Coronavirus have recently started a neighbourhood support project; A-O.K. (Acts of Organised Kindness). We have dedicated staff and volunteers in the Kinning Park/Paisley Rd West/Cessnock area; and hope to organise the neighbourhood block by block so our communities are empowered to look after ourselves and each other; have access to the support; goods and services that they need; and feel connected and hopeful for the future.
We offer phone check ins for people who feel anxious; lonely or isolated; and refer to other services when needed. We are also exploring safe ways to ensure residents have access to healthy and nutritious food. KPC Acts of Organised Kindness Project has been developed by Kinning Park Complex and Clyde Community Hall. We are looking to involve more community organisations and local stakeholders to expand the network and resources available. 1) People in our communities do not feel totally alone and completely without hope; 2) Our communities have access to the goods; services and support that they need; 3) Our communities are empowered to look after themselves and each other.
We are willing to take referrals from any other organisations or groups for people who live in the Paisley Road West area in and around Kinning Park and Cessnock
