The Glasgow Initiative of Facilitation & Therapy creates safe spaces for children and young people to communicate their thoughts and feelings through engagement in art, music and drama. The GIFT team is made up of HCPC registered arts therapists and professional artists. We bring together arts therapies and creative facilitation to create a unique person centred support service.
Our team of arts therapists and creative facilitators work collaboratively with a range of child-centred creative therapeutic approaches to support children and young people who may be experiencing emotional or mental health challenges.
Individual Arts Therapies
We offer one to one arts therapy sessions facilitated by one of our qualified arts therapists.
Arts Therapies Groups
Group sessions are facilitated by arts therapists and creative facilitators.
Responsive Service
Through a relational model we aim to ensure that we can design and deliver a service that is tailored to the needs of each child or young person. Building trust and relationships are central to what we do in order to create non-judgemental spaces. Our team has a broad range of experience working across different settings and sectors supporting children, young people and adults.
We are currently working with Glasgow City Council to offer individual support to children and young people across they city, alongside a package of support being delivered to several schools in Glasgow.
The GIFT team is also about to embark on a an exciting new project supporting a specific community in partnership with See Me, Scotland's Programme to tackle mental health stigma and discrimination.
Creative Consultation
We work with children and young people in collaboration with public sector organisations to explore how they can do things better, to inform policy development and research.
