Fathers Network Scotland is a charity with a passion for dads – because the family and society as a whole benefit when fathers are involved in the life of their children.
Our vision is for a safe and compassionate Scotland where all children, their families and communities are enriched and strengthened through the full and welcome involvement of their fathers.
Our mission is to drive positive cultural change by inspiring organisations, communities and individuals to engage, support and empower men to be the fathers they want to be.
We work with a wide range of organisations across Scotland to help them support dads.
We offer a range of services including training, consultancy, events, research and media work. We’ve co-produced manuals for dads-to-be, given evidence to the equal opportunities committee of the Scottish Parliament, and organised the Year of the Dad – a nationwide celebration of fatherhood and the importance of fathers in child development and parenting.
Fathers Network Scotland's work is continuing across Scotland as we respond to increased demand for our support. In response, our projects and team continue to use a variety of innovative methods to maintain contact with our network offering support and resources.
We are offering online training, a dads' WhatsApp group, a free SMS support service for new parents, a Facebook group and DADx series of talks for dads' and families' workers, along with our directory and sign posting services. We have also developed a new resource for perinatal health professionals to support new dads through lockdown.
