Children’s Health Scotland is dedicated to promoting and championing the needs of all children and young people and their families at times of illness.
We inform children and young people, parents and carers of their rights and responsibilities, where to access information and support and what they should expect from health service providers. We empower parents and carers to participate in decisions about the treatment and care of their children. We supply information, resources, and support with the aim of helping families access the best possible healthcare.
As well as providing information, support, a liaison role, and resources on any aspect of a child or young person’s healthcare, we also have a range of services operating in different parts of the country, each of which deal with a specific topic of children’s and young people’s health. This includes working with a range of organisations and groups in and around the Royal Hospital for Children Glasgow and across the health board area to represent the views and needs of sick children, young people and their families.
