Bethany Christian Trust is a national charity whose mission is to relieve the suffering and meet the long term needs of homeless and vulnerable people in Scotland.
We share a big vision – to work together towards the aim of Ending Homelessness in Scotland.
We provide high quality support services and accommodation for people who are at risk of becoming homeless, people who are currently homeless and people who have been homeless but now have their own home. We support people in a broad range of ways including: housing, education and employment, addiction recovery, emotional well-being, street outreach, community integration, offending reduction and social support.
We currently run addiction recovery and employment support as well as community and family building services. These vulnerable people previously met mostly in groups, however our team has been working with individuals during the recent months. We have also been able to offer financial support for service users through a Covid relief fund, which can cover rent, bills, food, utilities and other items.
Ongoing engagement to support prison leavers through a combination of
some group work in prisons, and adaptations which include individual face to face, telephone and
video calling, ensuring regular and ongoing support.
Care Van Glasgow: Adapting service to focus on education around social distancing and self isolation as well as emergency food provision in the East End of Glasgow.
Bethany Homes Glasgow: Full intensive housing management support with adaptations to include face to face where safe to do so for the people we support, and use of telephone and video calling.
